I am sure there are many more that are not pictured. This is soooo sad that people are losing their beloved pets due to tainted food.

Derby, I'm afraid you're right about that. Pet Connection has an unofficial count of more than 2800 pets. The image shows 35.

My goodness, I didn't know cats and dogs actually died from this tainted food. This is so sad. FAZ

Faz. There were about a dozen animals, mostly cats listed by Menu Foods in their original announcements.

The list at Pet Connections is self-reported, and as such probably high. But even if you halve the number, that's still more than a thousand pets.

My guess is no one will ever know for sure how many pets were killed by this toxin, whatever it actually turns out to be.

Yes it´s awful. And we first read about in newspaper last week. I know this food is here in germany too, but we don´t use it. Nobody talk about this here in Germany and I only heard about here in Blogger. My english is not good enough to discuss about it.Sorry !
My name is Luna, too !

This is so sad. We sent that url to our non-blogging friends. Heartbreaking.

Re: yur comint on Feline Cosequin. Bow dunt like it. He denies his tuna juice now. He has always been a very picky eater, and the only wet food he consistently eats is tuna w/mostly juice. Forget about sprinkling it on dry food. He eats various kinds of that. So he'll be a little stiff when he walks. As long as he still smacks the other poodins upside the head, he's doing ok.

Radcliff, Allie, Luna & Ozzie, thank you so much for being such good friends to me while I went through my vet ordeal! I don't know what was worse, going to the vet 2 days in a row or now having nasty gunk put down my throat and in my ears! YUCK!

This is such a terrible thing. The poor beans left behind. Mine mommy would feel awful if the food she fed me was poison. Nothing good comes of greed. We get leaky just thinking of how preventable this was.

I hope that you don't mind that I am visiting your blog site today since I am not a cat but I do really enjoy and love cats. I also have two grandcats (Opus & Roscoe)
It was a sad post to see today. I don't understand how things like this can happen. On the news in America a lot of pet moms and dads are making their own food for their furry ones. This way they will be assured that all are safe.
I hope to stay in touch with you and see what everyone is up to. Please be careful and watch what you are eating.

Thank you for the comment about my tail. Three hisses to all the bad food, it is so sad. It's sad enough to lose a loved pet, but because of bad food, ugh! Be safe. Have a wonderful Sunday.

The tainted pet food situation is just awful. I know people who are having a terrible time trying to figure out what to feed their beloved cats and dogs. Thank you for dropping by my blog and wishing me well. My toes are much better now.

Georgia was not part of the food recall, but also wanted to thank you for all the information. I pray this horror will end soon.
